Daniel Wiederkehr resolutely follows the pinciples of biological winegrowing, works in accordance with the lunar cycle and produces his own fertilizer made of the residues of winemaking (pomace) and sheep dung. Most of the work is done by hand – all in harmony with nature, from the grape all the way to the wine in the glass.
Strict biological production, by the way, is much easier than e.g. in Europe, since the borders of the Andes and the Pacific Ocean have successfully kept diseases and plagues like the much feared phyloxera from entering the country.
The best out of two worlds:
Authentic character wines between Bordeaux-type elegance and Chilean spice.
Elegant, fairly intense rosé colour. Juicy red cherries and tender fragrancies of fresh blossoms and spices. These delightful aromas repeat themselves on the palate with an animating acidity and a long, pleasant finish.
Dark garnet red. Red and blue berries, subtle notes of
smoke and herbs. Well-balanced tannins in an elegant
body. Inviting, even tempting, yet with a solid character
and a long, stimulating finish.
Pronounced aromas of red and blue berries, subtle notes of fresh herbs and sweet tobacco. Its well measured tannins and matching acidity end up in a well-balanced, pleasing finish.
Intense violet-red color. In the nose, typical aromas of black fruits (blackberries and plums), notes of pepper and licorice. Balanced structure, round tannins and pleasant acidity. With a medium-long finish. Drinky.
Deep ruby-garnet, densely structured yet elegant, pleasant. Blue berries, hints of white pepper, smoke and cocoa, smart tannine structure. Perfect acidity, long lasting finish.
Dark ruby-garnet, hints of purple, compact structure yet elegant. Dark and red berries, cherries. Walnut, shades of mints and cassis, stimulating, long finish.
